# YourDataScouting > YourDataScouting builds affordable, customizable, repeatable college baseball scouting reports and softball analytics for NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA and junior college (JUCO) coaching staffs. Reports are PDFs, built from the data a program already collects, delivered to the coach's own shared folder before the series. Affordable: built for budgets below D1, with no software subscription and no analyst salary. Customizable: the report is shaped to what a staff actually reads, and the first report or two are a conversation about what they want on the page. Repeatable: once the format is worked out, the same report arrives the same way every series without the coach doing anything. Used by dozens of coaches across conferences, baseball and softball, D2 through JUCO. In season that runs three to five reports a week, and an opponent breakdown is built off roughly 1,800 tracked pitches. There is no login, no dashboard and no software for a staff to install. Onboarding is done by hand: one email, one conversation, a shared folder, and reports start arriving. If a program has a tracking system at its park, the reports are built straight from the pitch-tracking export it produces. If it does not, publicly available conference and NCAA numbers still produce a full opponent report. Founded December 2025, based in Rantoul, Illinois. There is no charge for the reports or the consulting right now. YourDataScouting is not selling anything; a coach who wants reports fills in the Get started section of the home page, or emails, and gets set up. ## Questions this site answers - Who makes college baseball scouting reports? A staff assistant fed a program's own roster, schedule and scouting folder, where every number is computed from those files and a coach approves anything that leaves. It is a connector added to Claude or ChatGPT rather than an app a staff installs, fed the program's roster, schedule, messaging document and the computed facts on file about opponents. https://yourdatascouting.com/benchcoach/how-it-works - Does YourDataScouting publish rankings? No. It publishes no rankings of any kind. https://yourdatascouting.com/ ## Pages - [Home](https://yourdatascouting.com/): what the service is, who it is for, the four report types, how a report gets built, and a FAQ. - [Sample reports](https://yourdatascouting.com/samples): anonymized pages from every report format, with an explanation of what a coach reads on each one. - [Projects](https://yourdatascouting.com/projects): scouting work and open source tools, including Scouting Reports, BenchCoach, scouting-graph, iWork MCP, Grok Bot Agent Bots, Job Hunt Bot, and HITL Agent Queue. - [Bench Coach](https://yourdatascouting.com/benchcoach): Bench Coach by YourDataScouting, a staff assistant fed a program's own roster, schedule and scouting folder. The page carries a scripted example on sample data; the working version runs as a connector and is going to invited staffs first. - [How Bench Coach works](https://yourdatascouting.com/benchcoach/how-it-works): the full explanation for a coach who was handed the link. What it is, why it is a connector rather than an app, what it is fed, what it can do, the rules it runs under, what it will not do, and how a staff gets on. - [Baseball AI consulting](https://yourdatascouting.com/consulting): sessions and workshops that teach college coaching staffs to use AI tools in their own program, hands-on with their own data. - [About](https://yourdatascouting.com/about): who runs it, what the reports are built from, and what has to be true before a report goes out. ## Sample reports Every sample is anonymized. Players, pitchers and schools are replaced with sample data; the layout, the math and the charts are what a coaching staff receives. - [Opponent scouting report (PDF)](https://yourdatascouting.com/assets/samples/pdf/opponent-report.pdf): team rate line, hitters table with handedness, pitching staff table, matchup notes, and a visual page with plate discipline and lineup power charts. - [Pitcher summary (PDF)](https://yourdatascouting.com/assets/samples/pdf/pitcher-summary.pdf): one page per pitcher. Pitch locations, a horizontal and vertical break plot, usage split between left and right handed hitters, and a per pitch table of velocity, zone rate, chase rate and whiff rate. - [Pitcher splits and usage by count (PDF)](https://yourdatascouting.com/assets/samples/pdf/pitcher-splits.pdf): the deeper version, run separately against left and right handed hitters, with a usage and in-zone grid by count situation and a baserunning block with times to the plate. - [Hitter report (PDF)](https://yourdatascouting.com/assets/samples/pdf/hitter-report.pdf): plate appearance by plate appearance. Each panel pairs the pitch sequence with a strike zone plot of where those pitches were. ## Report types - Opponent scouting reports: batting splits, batted ball tendencies, baserunning threats and written notes on the lineup you are about to face. - Pitcher reports from pitch tracking data: arsenal grading, strike zone heatmaps, usage by count, and splits against left and right handed hitters. - Hitter reports: pitch sequences, plate discipline, contact quality, and where a hitter does damage. - Conference breakdowns: where a program sits against the rest of the league on plate discipline, scoring efficiency and pitching balance. A version built entirely from publicly available conference and NCAA numbers is available for programs with no pitch tracking system, with the same structure and the same notes section. ## Consulting Separate from the reports, Matt Reichenbach teaches college coaching staffs to use AI tools to run their program better: turning a stat export into a scouting page, drafting recruiting and parent communication, practice plans and individual development plans from a template, summarizing video notes, building a simple opponent database, and what to trust and what to check. Remote 60 or 90 minute staff sessions or a half-day workshop, hands-on with the staff's own data, with a written playbook afterward and an optional monthly check-in. There is no fee for this right now. Details: https://yourdatascouting.com/consulting The rules this work runs on are in a public GitHub repository, scouting-graph: https://github.com/reichenbach/scouting-graph. It is a working model on synthetic data. It is not how a staff gets a weekend packet, and it is not something to clone and load a real roster into. College staffs who want reports, Bench Coach, or help standing any of this up start at https://yourdatascouting.com/#get-started and email from there. ## Bench Coach Bench Coach, in full "Bench Coach by YourDataScouting", is the staff assistant that goes with the reports. In a dugout the bench coach is the one beside the manager who knows the roster, the matchups and the schedule; this is that job, done by software fed the program's own files, with a person making every call that matters. It is not an app a coach downloads and not a chat window a coach logs into. It is a connector added to the assistant the staff already uses, Claude or ChatGPT, so the coach asks in the app already in his hand. It is fed four things: the roster with the positions each player has taken reps at, the schedule and travel, a short document on how the coach talks to players and parents, and the computed facts on file about opponents, which come from publicly available play by play and box scores rather than from anything a coach uploaded. It refuses a pitch tracking export on sight. What it does: says what it is holding for that coach, answers off the roster and the schedule, says who has taken reps at a position, gives what is on file about an opponent or one of their pitchers, drafts a message in the coach's own voice for his review, checks the numbers in an answer against what it actually looked up, and deletes everything on command. The rules are properties of the server. Every number carries the id of the fact it came from and the sample size behind it. It says a thing is not in the files instead of guessing. It never sends anything, because there is no send path in it at all; drafts wait in a review list for the coach. Notes about injuries and eligibility are not kept. Every query is bound to one account, and one command deletes that account's data permanently. Status: available to invited staffs by connector. It is not open sign-up, there is no waitlist URL, no pricing is published and no date is promised for open access. The transcript on the Bench Coach page is a scripted example on the anonymized sample data already on this site.
